Seeing it next week – so excited! Not a great fan of Chekov but have heard good things about the Lyric’s so coming to challenge my opinion. Anyone going next wednesday?
Saw it last week and it looks great -with some really simple lighting and use of the whole stage. You should really like it…..not your usual dry chekov
Loved the show. Three Sisters is such a great play and I thought Sean Holmes and Filter’s version really did it justice. Some great performances, particularly from Claire Dunne and John Lightbody and good staging.
Enjoyed the show, i found out lots of infomation afterwards on the website, it was worth buying a programme to find out about it. Would recommend to friends… Vershinin is hot
saw it last night – was just wandering, why are all the characters in different time period dress?? is showing age or whaaaaat?? no one in my drama dept at school knows really lol
thanks
My first experience of Chekov and I expected to be bored senseless but, infact, 14 viewings later, I am still really enjoying it.
Love the sound effects. Those private moments which can be acted out at the back of the stage or off stage but which are brought right in to the auditorium in sound.
Very fond of the kettle boiling scene. Seconds tick by as the characters boring lives pass by and something as dull as a kettle boiling becomes an event. Makes me think of a comet approaching and about to hit the earth.
Not at all sure about Anfisa and that letter. The only person she might not know on stage is Vershinnin so why does it take her half an hour to work out the letter is for him?
Gemma Saunders should get an award for running across the stage in those heels and should audition for Wicked as she would make a good BAD witch.
At 50 the themes are all a little too close for comfort. “Afraid of dying and reluctant to die” doesn’t come near to the on going panic.
Saw it at The Lowry, thought it was fantastic, intense but funky. The vision of Romola lying at the start of Act 3 with Bad Company blasting from the PA was one I won’t forget and the kettle was surreal, took me a while to realise what it was, really dramatic. Great performances all round. Vibrant despair with a veneer of hope at the end “Where has it gone ? – my youth !”. Wonderful !.
i definitely adore your own posting kind, very charming.
don’t quit and keep writing due to the fact that it just good worth to look through it,
impatient to look into more and more of your own content pieces, have a good day

Hey!
I really enjoyed watching the show on the 10th.
I’m just wondering, what was that piece about the oak and the chain that Masha kept reciting, where was it from and what does it symbolise?

Hi Rosie lets try and get this answered, ill start a new link !
